Bismuth Subsalicylate, for Diarrhea 3 fl oz (90 ml) Percy Medicine for diarrhea and overindulgence in food and drink. Relieves diarrhea. For relief of symptoms of upset stomach associated with nausea, heartburn, and fullness due to overindulgence in food and drink. Helps firm stool. Reduces number of bowel movements. Reduces number of bowel movements. Shake well before using. For children 12 years of age and over: 1050 milligrams (2 teaspoons) every hour as needed. Adults: Do not exceed 4200 milligrams or 4 doses in 24 hours. Use until diarrhea stops but not more than 2 days. Children under 12: Ask a doctor. Note: Do not use if the imprinted band on the neck of the bottle is torn, broken, or not in place. Alcohol 5 percent. Children and teenagers that have or are recovering from Chicken Pox, flu systems, or flu should not use this product. If nausea, vomiting or fever occur, consult a doctor because these symptoms could be an early sign of Reye Syndrome, a rare but serious illness. Do not use if you have: bloody or black stool. Ask a doctor if you have: fever, mucus in the stool. Allergy Alert: Contains Salicylates. Do not take if you are allergic to salicylates, taking other salicylate products. Do not use if you have an ulcer, bleeding problem. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before you use if you are taking any drug for anticoagulation (thinning the blood), diabetes, gout, arthritis. Stop use and ask a doctor if: symptoms get worse, ringing in the ears or loss of hearing, diarrhea lasts more than 2 days. If pregnant or breast feeding ask a professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
